2025 has been a big year.

It’s been a year of growth, marked by change and the challenges that come with it. And no one has kept a closer pulse on it all than Michelle Parolini, our Director of Training.
We asked her 20 questions to break down the “why” behind this year: what sparked it, what shaped it, and what it means moving forward.

Read below for the inside scoop (but TLDR: it's all about your vitality)

1. What got you into Row House?
I fell in love with how it made me feel on an emotional level. My first 4 classes, I stayed skeptical...then that magical 5th class where I finally understood: the coach, the music, the swing - it all came together to create an environment where I could actually love movement!

2. What prompted all of the big program changes this year?
We saw an opportunity to lead at a different standard; one that integrates strength, cardio, mobility and intelligent movement so people don’t just “build muscle”, they build years onto their training capacity.

3. What gaps in the fitness industry did we need to address head-on?
A cardio option that was low impact while still providing strength training  benefits.

4. Why was it important for Row House to start talking openly about age, sustainability, and vitality?
It was clear from our members that there was a real need to open the dialogue around smarter training: something that doesn’t crush your joints but provides a sustainable way to not just get stronger but to keep the cardiovascular system strong as well.

5. What misconceptions about Indoor Rowing or low-impact training were you most excited to challenge?
That low impact means low intensity! The rower is hands-down one of the highest output full body training tools you can find. It’s less wear and tear on the joints, which means you can remain consistent. And as we both know, consistency is what wins the race of life.

6. Which program enhancement this year made you think, “Yes, this is exactly who we are”?
I think it’s the clear definition of our classes to provide a more holistic training approach within the member journey.

7. What have coaches or members shared that let you know these changes are resonating and making a real difference?
Coaches are sharing that the changes they see in their members have given them "new life" as a coach!

8. What was the biggest learning moment for you as we worked through all these changes this year?
Communication and education are key to success.

9. How do you think these updates will help members age better long-term?
Row House provides a pathway to train with intention. So as you age, the flexibility can be felt in every stroke.

10. Where do you see the fitness industry heading in the next 3–5 years?
I think it will swing back to center and people will remember that cardiovascular activity is actually just as important as weight training.

11. What role do you think rowing and HILIT will play in that future?
HILIT gives people the ability to continue to keep pushing as they age, and as longevity becomes the goal for more people, rowing will be there; providing access to power, endurance, mobility and proprioceptive training in a way that very few modalities can.

12. If you could shift one mindset for the industry overnight, what would it be?
Stop speaking in absolutes.

13. What does vitality look like in your own life right now?
Being able to take down a hike that makes me question my sanity in choosing it!

14. How do you personally stay consistent during busy or stressful seasons?
I plan each day and focus on the non-negotiable first. That includes the things that feed my soul.

15. What’s a small daily habit that makes a surprisingly big difference?
Starting my day with a prayer of gratitude for the abundance in my life.

16. What music or artists are you playing on repeat right now?
Anything rock and roll...specifically 90s grunge.

17. What show are you currently binging?
Tulsa King and Landman

18. What book, article, or podcast is inspiring you lately?
I love Huberman Labs and Andy Galpin podcasts. I’m reading Outlast (Peter Attia) and just finished Unbreakable (Vonda Wright)

19. What’s your coffee order?
Americano with steamed cream

20. What’s one thing bringing you joy this week?
The holidays! I love moving from the gratitude of the Thanksgiving seasons to the hopefulness of Christmas and New Years.
